OXFORD, OH (FOX19) - Local resident, 3-time award winning author, licensed Medical Massage Therapist, and self-care expert Gini Maddocks, will present excerpts from her book, "Rescue and Relief for Computer Users," at the Oxford Community Arts Center's Second Friday event on February 10, 2012, at 7 pm. Similar to Maddocks' blog, the reading will highlight ways to replace dysfunctional thoughts and habits with fresh perspective and insight. The reading will be followed by a brief discussion and book signing.

OXFORD, OH (FOX19) - MadCap Puppets' production of WHEN YOU WISH UPON A FISH will perform at the Oxford Community Arts Center. The show is free and open to the public, and will take place on Monday, February 6 at 6:30 pm.

The famous Grimm brothers take the stage in one of the most popular Madcap shows of all time! The brothers have three completely different versions of "The Fisherman and His Wife" and can't decide which fishy fairy tale to choose for their book. Each outrageous version includes audience participation, a magical talking fish and a surprise ending. Don't miss this hilarious slapstick adventure!

OXFORD, OH (FOX19) - Often know as “traditional” or “roots music”,  American Folk Music encompasses numerous genres,  including bluegrass, country music, gospel, Appalachian folk, blues, Cajun and Native American music.   The American folk music revival is a phenomenon in the United States that began during the 1940s and peaked in popularity in the mid-1960s, but in many ways has never lost its appeal.  The Oxford Community Arts Center seems to be the center of a mini-revival…offering children’s Folk Music and Folk Guitar classes for children and Dulcimer classes for adults this spring (all taught by Susan Pepper) and now an American Folk Songs concert on Wednesday, February 8th at 7:30 pm….

Long-time AK Steel spokesperson to retire

WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - AK Steel said Monday that Alan H. McCoy, Vice President, Government and Public Relations, has decided to retire effective January 31, 2012. 

McCoy began his steel career in 1976 in employee and community relations for the former Kansas City Works of Armco Inc.  He progressed through several positions before joining Armco’s former Eastern Steel Division in Middletown, Ohio in 1987.  He held several public relations positions with Armco Steel Company L.P., the successor company to the Eastern Steel Division, before being named General Manager, Public Relations for AK Steel Corporation in 1994.  Mr.
