Wakeboard for free this Saturday in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - Wake Nation Cincinnati is giving wakeboard enthusiasts or anyone with an interest the chance to hit the waves for free.

The Liquid Force “Free For All,” a one-of-a-kind event with music, food, giveaways, professional wakeboarding demos and free wakeboarding for the public.

The free for all will take place in Fairfield's Joyce Park on Saturday, June 15 from 10am - 5pm.

In addition, the public can also get personal tips and pointers from Liquid Force’s global team riders -- such as wakeboard rail-riding expert Kevin Henshaw and wake skating pros Aaron Reed and Danny Hampson -- all top professionals who will be demonstrating their amazing skills on the water.

Also making a return to Wake Nation is local product and former Wake Nation manager Graeme Burress, now part of Liquid Force’s professional team.

FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - Jungle Jim's International Market in Fairfield will once again host their Beerfest on Friday and Saturday.

There will be 350 beers to sample from all over the world, including beers from local producers and large selection of craft brews from all across the country.

Each night will begin with the tradition of tapping and sampling from a firkin at 6:45pm. Tickets include a commemorative Jungle Jim's Beerfest tasting glass and picnic style foods. We are the only beer festival that includes food in the cost of the ticket.

“If you're serious about beeryou won’t want to miss this festival!” exclaims Ed Vinson, Festival Director and Jungle Jim's Beer and Wine Operations Manager.

The 2013 Beerfest T-Shirt will be released at the show, which has been under wraps until now.

Classic cars meet fresh farmers produce at Bridgewater Falls

FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - Bridgewater Falls in Fairfield is bringing back their weekly cruise-ins and farmers markets for the summer season.

The Classic Car Cruise-In presented by M & G Body Shop returns to Bridgewater Falls for its fourth year.  Music will be provided by DJ Toad each week in the event's new location behind Mattress Firm and Party City.

The Farmers Market kicks off in a new location - The Village Pavilion between WG Kitchen & Bar and Two Little Buds Florist and will feature local farmers, growers and vendors selling fresh produce and homemade items.  The event will take place every Thursday through September in conjunction with the Cruise-Ins.

The event on June 13 will feature dash plaques and two cars will be awarded trophies at 7:30 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public.  There is no car registration fee for the cruise-in.

Line up set for Oxford Summer Music Festival

OXFORD, OH (FOX19) - Summer line up full of local music is set to kick off in Oxford.

The 27th annual Oxford Summer Music Festival on Thursday June 6th ! Concerts are held uptown and run from 7:00-9:30pm. Performances will be held every Thursday through August 29th, with the exception of Thursday July 4th.

The first concert is sponsored by Butler Rural Electric Co-op and they are bringing in Robin Lacy & De Zydeco to kick off the summer.

Miami University Athletic Department will also be hosting their annual Coaches Caravan just before the concert at 6:00pm.

Season of After-Hours on the Square summer concerts begin Thursday

WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - The 2013 season of the First Financial Bank After-Hours on The Square concert series kicks off Thursday, May 23.

Naked Karate Girls, Lt. Dan’s New Legs and My Sister Sarah are just a few of the bands headlining this year’s concert series.

The concerts are from 6 to 9 p.m. each Thursday on The Square @ Union Centre, 9285 Centre Pointe Drive. The Square is located off I-75, just west of Muhlhauser Road, with nearby parking and  is free and open to the public.

Alcohol cannot be brought into the concert due to restrictions of the liquor permit. Proceeds from beverage sales benefit the event and local non-profit groups.

Oxford Wine Festival returning for its sixth year

OXFORD, OH (FOX19)  - The Oxford uptown parks will soon become a festival celebrating fine wines, craft beers and area artisans.  The 6th annual Oxford Wine Festival will be held from 2:00-10:00pm on Saturday May 18th.

Participants at the event will receive 5 tasting tickets and will be able to sample fine wines from around the world.  There is also beer tasting available. 

Area artisans will have their work on display and throughout the evening there will be cooking displays and live performances by area musicians.

To purchase tickets for this event, visit www.oxfordchamber.org .  Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.  To make a weekend of the festival, the Oxford Best Western hotel and Presidio Pines Bed and Breakfast are offering festival packages.
