Man attempts to use stolen check at Oxford Krogers store

OXFORD TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Oxford Township Police are seeking information on a suspect and vehicle involved with an alleged check fraud.  The suspect attempted to cash a stolen check that was stolen in Franklin County, Indiana at the Oxford Krogers and used an ID stolen from an Oxford Township Burglary.

The suspect's vehicle captured on surveillance video appears to be a 90's model Pontiac Grand Prix, red in color. The suspect is described as a male white approx. 5'10" 175lbs.  He also has a limp from a leg brace and a bandage or cast on his left hand.

Man tells clerk "there will be a shooting" during gas station robbery

FAIRFIELD , OH (FOX19) - Fairfield police want to find a man who threatened a gas station clerk before getting away with cash.

The robbery happened at the Speedway located on Pleasant Avenue on October 11. The suspect walked into the store just before 5 a.m. with his left hand in his jacket.

The suspect told the clerk that there would be "a shooting" if the clerk did not give him the money.

The robbery suspect left the area in what is described as a “sandy colored Chevy Avalanche or Cadillac truck style Escalade”.  Anyone who can identify this suspect should contact Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.  All calls are anonymous and callers may be eligible for a cash reward.

UPDATE: Additional charges filed against Miami rape suspect

OXFORD, OH (FOX19)- Additional charges have been filed against a suspect who is accused of raping a Miami University student during a burglary.

Police believe Fransisco Jairo Naupa Rivera is responsible for entering five houses where Miami students reside.

Rivera was originally charged with burglary, aggravated burglary and rape after being found by police inside a residence where he allegedly raped a woman in her bedroom. He now faces additional charges of two counts of criminal trespass and one count each of burglary and attempted theft.

On Sept. 14, officers investigating a report of a burglary on Spring Street located the suspect vehicle, a white Chrysler, on E. Collins Street.

The investigation led to the discovery of another burglary, this one on Collins Street 

Police say their investigation led them to Rivera.

Trial set for man charged with offering Chelsea Johnson drugs for sex

The man indicted for offering Chelsea Johnson drugs for sex appeared in court on Thursday, and a trial has been set.

George Donald Davis, 24, is scheduled to appear for trial on September 17th.

A motion to suppress hearing has also been scheduled for August 23rd at 1:30 p.m.

His bond was previously lowered from $250,000 to $25,000. 

Davis was indicted by a Butler County Grand Jury on charges of trafficking in heroin, importuning and compelling prostitution. 

Police say Davis offered heroin to Johnson in exchange for sex on the day she went missing. Johnson was later found stabbed to death.

Police investigate series of robberies in Hamilton area

HAMILTON & fAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - Police are investigating a series of residential burglaries in the Hamilton and Fairfield Township area.

Police say the burglaries are likely related. All of them have occurred between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. and the suspect(s) entered through an unlocked window or unlocked door.

The suspect(s) is taking purses, wallets and small electronics.

Citizens are advised to double checked their windows and doors to make sure they are locked.
