Butler Co. cop, wife face child neglect charge in FL

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL (AP/FOX19) - An Ohio police officer and his wife face aggravated child neglect charges after their young children were left unsupervised in a truck outside a Panama City Beach bar.

Bay County Jail officials say 35-year-old Michael Webb and 29-year-old Staci Hall left jail Thursday night after posting $500 bonds. The Florida Department of Children and Families took custody of the children, ages 3 and 11 months. Webb is a part time police officer with the Ross Township Police Department in Ohio's Butler County.

The News Herald of Panama City reports Ugly Coyote staff spotted the children sleeping in a truck and called police late Wednesday.

The parents were drinking at the bar.

Police found a loaded .40-caliber Glock within reach of the children.

Jail records didn't list an attorney for Webb or Hall. On Friday, the Ross Township Police Department placed Webb on administrative leave, pending a disciplinary hearing.

Hamilton Police investigating robbery at First Financial bank

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - Police in Hamilton are investigating a robbery that occured at the First Financial Bank.

A 911 call was received on May 15 around 10:14am reporting the robbery. Upon arrival, officers were advised by bank employees that a person had entered the bank, displayed a hand grenade when he made the demand for money.

Bank employees described the suspect as a white male that was estimated as being 6 feet tall, and 180 lbs.  The suspect was wearing a black hoody type sweatshirt, a yellow t-shirt and blue jeans and a hat.

Ex-Little League OH official sentenced to 6 months

HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) - A former Ohio Little League baseball administrator has been sentenced to six months in jail for child pornography.

Roger Fox Jr., 50, of Hamilton was sentenced Monday in Butler County. Common Pleas Judge Patricia Oney (OH'-nee) also sentenced him to five years of probation, ordered sex offender treatment, and barred him from unsupervised contact with unrelated minors.

Over $1M in synthetic marijuana seized in Hamilton

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -Hamilton Police recovered over $1 million in synthetic drugs and more than $200 thousand in U.S. currency after a major drug bust.

Officers served 19 search warrants to businesses and residences in both Butler and Hamilton Counties on Thursday. Officers recovered over 51,600 packets of synthetic drugs valued at over $1 million.

Drug paraphernalia, four handguns and $210 thousand in U.S. currency were also recovered at the scene.

The City of Hamilton has been conducting a long term investigation of trafficking synthetic marijuana in several businesses including Wireless A, Pleasant Avenue Wireless & Smoke Shop, CK Wireless, Bonkerz and the EZ Wireless Store. All of the businesses are located in the City of Hamilton.

Suspect wanted for stealing boxes of Nike shoes

FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - Police in Fairfield are searching for a suspect wanted for stealing boxes of Nike shoes from Kohls.

The male white suspect stole approximately $350 worth of Nike shoes on Tuesday..  He fled the scene in a 2000 maroon Chevy Tracker (FTA3222) which was occupied by two females. 

  The suspect has the tattoo “DOA” on the back of his head.

Caught Off-Guard: Man attacked in Middletown laundromat

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19)- Police say a man was unsuspectingly attacked from behind at a laundromat in Middletown.

According to authorities, David Jones, 57, was leaving Mid-Town Laundry on N. Verity Parkway on Sunday when he was suddenly assaulted from behind by a man holding a wooden stick.

The man reportedly ran up behind Jones and started hitting him without saying a word, in an apparent attempt to knock him out. Police say Jones was hit in the head but was able to fight off the suspect, even pulling off his glasses during the altercation. The suspect then ran, getting in his car and driving northbound on Verity Parkway.

Jones, who officers say was bleeding on the left side of his head, was treated at a nearby hospital.

Two arrested for burglaries at Oxford apartment complex

OXFORD, OH (FOX19) - Police were called out to an apartment in Oxford on Monday over a report of a burglary in progress.

When officers arrived around 1:40am, they immediately arrested Charles M. Dobbins, who was found near the front door of the apartment.

Further investigation revealed that another man was still inside the apartment.  Officers searched the apartment and found Darius L. Rivers inside.  A resident, who was in the apartment at the time of the incident, stated that she did not know either Dobbins or Rivers nor did they have permission to be in the apartment. 

During the investigation, officers discovered both suspects had burglarized another apartment in the same complex.

Dobbins III was arrested and charged with Burglary (F-2), Complicity (F-2) and Theft (M-1).   Rivers was arrested and charged with two counts of Burglary (F-2) and one count of Theft, (M-1).
