Arrest made in accidental Fairfield Twp. shooting

FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19)- Police have made an arrest after a shooting in Fairfield Township.

A victim was found around 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning at the entrance of Menard's in the 2800 block of Princeton Road.

The shooting actually occurred just prior to this in the area of Cardiff Court and Leeds Lane. The victim had been driven away from the scene of the shooting by others before stopping in the area of Menard's to call 911.

Police say prior to the shooting, the victim, Robinson Hao Davalos, of Cardiff Court, was in a parked vehicle along with three other people.  Police believe there was drug activity taking place.

While in the back seat of the
vehicle, Todd Armstrong, 22, mishandled a handgun that was being shown and it accidentally discharged,
causing a round to go through the back of the driver's seat and striking Davalos, who was sitting in the driver's seat.

Airman charged in groping from Butler Co.

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP)- An Air Force officer who led the service's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response unit has been charged with groping a woman in a parking lot.

A police report says Lt. Col. Jeffrey Krusinski was drunk and grabbed a woman's breast and buttocks.
According to his Facebook page, he is from Fairfield, Ohio and is a 1990 graduate of Fairfield High School. He joined the Air Force right out of high school.
Police say the woman fought him off and called police. Krusinski has been released on bond.

Acclaimed author to give keynote speech at Miami U ceremony

OXFORD, OH (FOX19) - Acclaimed author & journalist and Miami University alum Wil Haygood has been selected as the featured speaker at Miami University's spring ceremony.

The cermony happens at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at Yager Stadium.  Miami will award 3,678 degrees.

Haygood has been a Washington Post journalist since 2002.  Haygood’s front-page story for the Post in 2008 about longtime White House butler Eugene Allen is the inspiration for “The Butler,” a big-screen movie directed by Oscar-nominated director Lee Daniels and due to be released next fall.

Honorary doctorate degrees will be awarded to Haygood and to Mohammed al Barwani (Miami ’75), founder, owner and chairman of MB Holding Company LLC, a multinational corporation, in recognition of his international reputation as an innovative leader and conscientious global citizen.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The first of a three game series will be a tribute to Middletown natives.The Reds game on Monday, May 6 is Middletown night.

Middletown, Ohio natives Chris Carter and Kayla Harrison will be honored during the annual Middletown Night at the ballpark. Carter, who is a 2013 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Harrison, the 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist in judo, will serve as the Honorary Captain of the game.

Missing Adult Alert cancelled for West Chester man

WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19)- West Chester Police have cancelled a Missing Adult Alert for an elderly man.

Michael Hayward, 80, was last seen at 11:00 a.m. Saturday on Woodland Hills Drive. 

The alert was cancelled on Monday morning after Hayward appeared at the West Chester Goodwill office and said he was lost.
